A new boost for regional travel was launched last November when the Kavango Zambezi Trans-Frontier Conservation Area (KAZA) UNIVISA was implemented by the governments of Zambia and Zimbabwe for a six- month trial period. (After the pilot period, the UNIVISA is intended to be rolled out to Angola, Botswana and Namibia, with more neighbouring countries expected to participate at a later phase.)
The US$50 visa is available at Lusaka, Harare, Livingstone and Victoria Falls airports, as well as the Victoria Falls land border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and the Kazungula land border with Botswana ā€“ it is valid for 30 days and covers day trips to Botswana.
Citizens from 40 countries are eligible for the UNIVISA, including those from EU countries, the USA and Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Russia, Argentina and Brazil.
  Weather
Twice voted as the country with the best climate worldwide, Zimbabwe benefits from its location on a plateau tempering the tropical climate. Summer from late November to March is the season of the rains (torrential downpours and daytime sunshine that waters the bush and greens vegetation), and this is preceded by six weeks of very high temperatures during October and early November with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius.
In the winter or dry season from May to September, the climate is generally regarded as perfect, with warm days and cool nights.
