 Welcome
  8 Meetings Zimbabwe 2015
It gives me great joy to introduce this second edition of Meetings Zimbabwe!
Barely a year after the inception of the Zimbabwe National Convention Bureau (ZNCB), the destination is already receiving noticeable results in the MICE sector - hosting more international conferences in 2013 compared to 2012, with last year proving even better ... and a promising future in store.
Zimbabwe as a whole witnessed the impact of MICE tourism when the capital Harare hosted the Jehovah’s Witness International Convention in 2014, attracting more than 20,000 international delegates and 60,000 local delegates from all over the country. The city was full of business over a three-week period, and the rest of the country also benefited as delegates visited major tourist attractions and even the remotest villages.
It is this success in catering for both small and large conferences and events that has re-positioned Zimbabwe as a competitive meetings destination.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority through the ZNCB continues to work with leading MICE agents on the international market in promoting Zimbabwe as a MICE destination as well as building capacity with local players. And, through public/private sector partnerships, we have further managed to equip our local players with much needed skills as well as instilling an awareness of the importance of business tourism.
I would like to take this opportunity to urge international corporates to consider Zimbabwe when planning for unforgettable incentive experiences. As a destination, Zimbabwe is endowed with magical incentive destinations, including Victoria Falls, Hwange and Kariba, that, I am certain, are inspirational for participants in any event.
It is my sincere hope that this publication will continue to keep you updated and informed of opportunities and facilities for the MICE sector in Zimbabwe.
Pleasant reading!”
Karikoga Kaseke
