Facing page: A hyena feasts on the carcass of an elephant. The elephant died
of natural causes and was fed on by a pride of lions. When the lions moved off,
hyenas took over to continue this most bountiful meal.
Above: More so than not, a leopard’s yawn is a sign that it will potentially start
moving soon. Leopards like to rest while being somewhat elevated, be that on
a tree branch or a termite mound in order to scan their surroundings.
