Botswana’s most all-encompassing resort
for the meeting and events sector is
undoubtedly The Grand Palm Hotel
Casino and Convention Resort, sited a few
minutes’ drive from Gaborone city centre
and home to two hotels, multiple dining
venues, casino and spa, as well as a dedicated
convention centre, the Gaborone International
Convention Centre (GICC).
Operated by Peermont, the resort features
the deluxe 188-room Peermont Walmont and
the three-star Peermont Metcourt Inn with 149
rooms.
The Peermont Walmont offers 14 suites, 90
doubles and 48 twin rooms, plus 34 superior
rooms on an executive floor where there is also
a business lounge and boardroom for small
meetings.
Features of the property include a breakfast
restaurant, bar and lounge, gym and pool,
the Camelot health and beauty spa with six
treatment rooms, hydro room and Vichy
shower, free WiFi and complimentary airport
shuttle.
Its sister hotel, the Peermont Metcourt has
35 executive king bedrooms and 16 executive
twins, 96 standard doubles and two special
assistance rooms – and has its own breakfast
restaurant, bar and lounge.
All guests can use facilities at both hotels,
with additional f&b options including the Beef
Baron Grill & Rib Room, with outside terrace;
the Bai Sheng offering an Asian menu, three
private dining rooms and an outdoor courtyard;
the Mokolwane Bistro, featuring African
specialties and an international buffet, the Fig
Tree on the pool terrace for casual dining – and
a newly refurbished Boma at the lakeside, a
traditional African outdoor venue which can be
used for private buffet dining for 40 to 150 or
cocktails for up to 200.
As part of the Peermont conference offering,
Day Conference Packages are available that can
include venue hire, coffee and tea on arrival,
standard conference equipment, mid-morning
break with refreshments, lunch and afternoon
break – clients can also request tailor-made
packages with additional activities including
team-building, outdoor adventures, nature
drives, sailing and fishing, golf days and cultural
events.
