Gold Star program chair wishes Sky Soldiers “Happy Holidays”
As I sit here, reflecting on this year, I find myself thinking on how much hard it was, and on how much we had to change; we had to learn and adapt to a new normal, to adjust our lives, the way we work, and our relationships.
Learning to adapt and inno- vate has been a common theme for everyone this year, more than we have ever done before.
Even in this world of uncer- tainty, there is much to be thank- ful for. We may not be able to control the circumstances around us – COVID, illness of a fami-
ly member, politics, or even the weather. Yet, in all of this, we can choose how we respond and show gratitude for our life, our freedom, and our loved ones. I am reminded of the Apostle Paul’s message to a group of Christians many years ago that experienced similar hardship.
“Be anxious for nothing, but
in everything by prayer and suppli- cation, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which sur- passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:6-7
I want to thank everyone, especially those carrying out critical tasks to manage this crisis, includ- ing those who work daily to keep everyone safe.
As much as I missed the reunion this year, I have hope we will be able to attend the next one in Arizona. I can’t wait to see my beloved Gold Star Families and be together again.
I pray abundant blessings over each one of you, during this Hol- iday Season. May we never forget those who made the ultimate sacri- fice, and may we hold their families in our hearts, and in our prayers.
Hope you all have a blessed
Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.
Till next time, my love to each one of you.
