Our Sky Soldiers are charging forward as we ebb and flow through this ever changing training environment while constrained by a pandemic. The Herd is keeping their hatchets sharp and muskets clean. Chapter 173s member-
ship ranks are thin and recruiting efforts are tuff with competing work schedules and Paratrooper Deployments. My plan as Chapter President is to reengage our Sky Soldiers [now that the “shock and
awe” of COVID-19 has past] by leaflet drops on Company Order- ly Room boards and work place doors. Any suggestions on content are welcome from my fellow Chap- ters on how to best “Promote”
the Association outside of the Scholarship program and Annual Reunion. Our current Chapter173 family status here in Vicenza, Italy is approximately 17 Lifetime and a few Associate Association members whom all are serving on Active Duty or full-time DA Civilians. The Chapter consistently attempts to recruit NEW members from the
Active Duty formations whenever we can slow them down and talk. COVID-19 has not stopped “The HERD” from their Mission here in Europe and our Sky Soldiers are Mission focused and Combat Ready as always.
On another Note, 1-503rd IN is looking for any support they can get in order to erect a monu- ment stone (32”x69”x12”) to be placed in front of the Battalion HQ for the Paratroopers we lost during the GWOT. The Cost is estimated at $3,500.
