And yes, he was charged with sexual assault and claimed it was consensual. He was let off when the 19-year-old woman refused to testify. Then there was a civil case that was settled with money, an apology to her and her family and no admission of guilt. Who knows what happened there? Some guys are horrible to women, some women are out to rip off big stars. I'm working from no facts whatsoever. I should get a podcast.
As my wife showers and gets ready for work at the university. I watch YouTube clips of car rebuilds, David Spade's new show, Australian Open tennis, bits from the Graham Norton Show, and other short-attention-span tidbits. Then I go to the bathroom, splash water on my face and hair, brush my teeth and get dressed for my driver duties. My job is to take Jintana's older niece, Kadjang, to Prince Royal Academy. It's a fine high school and very difficult to get into. Awee, Kadjang's younger sister, did not have good enough grades to get in next year and when she found out she was heartbroken. She dreamed of going to the same school as her sister, but now she'll go to a different one and that's probably okay. I think Kadjang is a better student and I also think they'll both do just fine in life. They are the best kids I've ever known. Fifteen minutes later I turn off the Super Highway toward town, traffic slows to a crawl and soon we are bumper to bumper on the road to her school. I listen to my book, she talks to friends on her phone, and I weave through the mass of cars to drop her off. She thanks me for driving, I say have a good day, and I try to pull out from the curb but a woman in a Toyota refuses to give an inch. I wait, and slowly, slowly, fight the traffic to get to Bake n' Bite. I'm late, and Jintana has to eat without me. I get there as she is leaving for work, say goodbye, and sit down to eat my spinach Quiche with very strong coffee. Cutting down might be harder than I thought.
I read the sports and news on my phone. More about Kobe. More about the Trump impeachment. I pick up quiche to go for Jintana's mom, and head back home.
Usually I stop at the Gymkhana driving range on the way home, but I've been going at golf pretty hard and my back is acting up. On the way I stop at RimPing Market across from the Ping River. I have a deep desire for Thin Mints, those chocolate wafers with a mint filling, and discover they don't have any. I accept a substitute, and see some dijon mustard Kettle potato chips. They call to
