Chairman’s introduction
A warm
welcome to your
2017 Newsletter
for members of
the BAA Pension
Scheme.
In this edition of ‘Focus’ you will nd the Annual Funding Statement for the year ended 30 September 2017 and the investment update.
This year we have started a journey that will culminate in the Scheme adopting a digital approach as to how we communicate with you. This means you can receive less paper. Whilst some paper communications will remain for legal reasons, and you can opt-out of this process, we very much hope you will support us as we strive to provide communications in
a more cost ef cient, exible, secure

and environmentally friendly manner. Over time the digital approach will also allow us to provide more relevant content to members based on their member category.
To support this initiative we have revamped the Scheme’s website and created an expanded digital version of ‘Focus’ which can be found on the site. The website is now becoming the central ‘hub’ of our pension communications and to re ect this we have improved the member user experience accordingly. Please take a look at www.baa-pensions.co.uk
Derek Proven resigned a Member Nominated Trustee. An election
will be held, after the completion of a review by the Company
of constituencies for member representatives, to ensure they represent a fair re ection of the membership.
We are pleased to report that the Trustee has appointed Redington
as the Scheme’s new investment consultant. An interview with Robert Gardner, Co-Founder of Redington,
can be found in ‘Digital Focus’. Please go to www.baa-pensions. co.uk/Home, or use the QR code to access it.
It seems that ‘Brexit’ has dominated the political and economic agenda for some time now. On
page X we take a look at what Brexit means for pensions generally and our scheme in particular.
We hope you enjoy this edition
of ‘Focus’. Our continuing aim is to make it as useful and informative
as possible - so if you would like to suggest any topics that you would like to see covered in future issues, please do not hesitate to contact the Pensions helpline on 01293 604248 or email baapensions@equiniti.com.
Phil Wilbraham Chairman On behalf of the Trustee of the BAA Pension Scheme.
