School Projects
One of our principal activities for the past four years has been the sponsorship of a Public Speaking Contest between the Catholic Primary Schools in our Diocese.
Four schools participated in our first year. In 2025 the number has risen to eleven and we anticipate that number will increase to fourteen as additional schools join the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust covering Somerset and Wiltshire.
Teams of five pupils from each school speak for up to eight minutes on one of the seven principles of Catholic teaching
The project has the support not only of individual teachers at the various schools but is enthusiastically endorsed by the CEO of the Trust, Mrs Helen Taylor.
Independent judges adjudicate and are full of admiration for the standards displayed by the young students.
We are justifiably proud of our involvement and hope to sponsor the event for many years to come
