A welcome from our President ... Dear Brothers and Friends
Welcome to the 2024-2025 West Somerset Catenian Association Presidential Year.
The West Somerset Circle is part of the Catenian Association which is an international brotherhood of Catholic business and professional gentlemen. We meet socially once a month for a free exchange of views, and to help and encourage one another and our families in our social and business lives. We meet at The Walnut Tree Hotel, North Petherton, usually on the 4th Monday of each Month.
As President I have the honour of choosing a Charity to support. My chosen charity is The Southwest Multiple Sclerosis Centre. The Centre provide a welcoming and friendly environment, promoting independence and improving wellbeing and quality of life for MS sufferers, their families, and carers
My daughter has MS and as a family we have seen first hand the excellent work of the Centre.
As Catenians our friendship is based on a shared faith and is enjoyed by our wives and children, and continues after a member's death with widows being supported and involved on a continuing basis. Although a Catholic lay society, we have no political, ecumenical or theological objectives as an association, but is more an association of "Brothers". Brothers try to help one another, and their families, as much as they can.
Whatever difficulties arise in life, there will be members and their wives committed to help. If a member suffers financial difficulties, a Benevolent Fund can provide assistance.
By working together and socialising together we will strengthen our faith and broaden our friendships.
