Why do you need colour management systems?
Colour-matching problems occur because various devices and software use different colour spaces. A colour management system (CMS) interprets and translates colour accurately between devices by comparing the colour input space to the output colour space and makes the necessary adjustments. A CMS translates colours with the help of colour profiles.
Different substrates will also reproduce different gamuts depending on their properties ie an beermat material will produce a much smaller gamut than a coated board.
ICC Profiles
Fogra 39 for coated, Fogra 47/27 for uncoated. There is not an accurate ICC profile for beermat material so we use our own inter- nal profiles and plate curves to achieve the best translation.
In Workflow / RIP
Independent workflows to apply in-rip device calibration per sub- strate / printing press.
