I visited Kath this afternoon. She is such a lovely lady with lots of conversation and laughter.
We spoke about the books Women of Parramatta and 10 Pound Pom and their meaning as well as her husband and kids.
We laughed so much.

Thank you Cate, meeting Gordon was a real pleasure. So sad he has just lost his wife. He is a champion chess player, his daughter showed me all his trophies. His daughter said Dad beats us in 5 moves, so I was really proud it took him 40 minutes to beat me.
We connected on lots of points, as my Grandfather and Stepfather spent years in the Merchant navy, as did Gordon who became captain of his ship. I am arranging to meet him next Tuesday, and in the meantime I will Google some good opening chess moves!
