3SCTS 2022: THE INAUGURAL TRI-SOCIETY CARDIAC & THORACIC SYMPOSIUM

Finally, it looks as though the College will meet in person, in what will be an exciting and different meeting for our College. For a number of years we have discussed holding our meeting at the same time as the ANZSCTS, or have in a combined meeting and it has now become reality.
We are expecting 400-500 delegates in Cairns, there may even be more! So it will be a meeting with lots of interesting and diverse content. We will have sessions combined with the Surgeons and Anaesthetist, and sessions dedicated Perfusion sessions, so we should end up with the perfect mix for the meeting. Get in on Wednesday, enjoy Cairns, attend one of the Simulation sessions (sponsored by Medtronic) and be ready to go first thing Thursday morning with an action packed program featuring world leading overseas speakers (in person!) from all specialties.
We are thrilled to announce that David Fitzgerald (MUSC, Charleston, USA), and Kenneth Shann (Mass General Boston, USA) will be our perfusion Keynote speakers and they have plenty to offer to the joint symposium and to our perfusion stream. We also have a strong local team, joined by Molly Oldeen from Chicago, so there will plenty of content for all. We will also be running some dedicated education stream time for our students, so please encourage all trainees to attend the
3SCTS meeting. Trainees are also invited to register for the ANZSCTS Trainees Day (the registration page has not yet been updated, so if you register early and this option is not available let us know at admin@anzcp.org and we will sort registration).
A note on registration, read carefully, and remember to register for the Welcome Reception (Thursday night) and College dinner (Friday night), both INLCUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION FEE, and there is a combined 3SCTS Symposium dinner which will be a bargain at $80 a ticket. The registration page is also where you can sign up for the Simulation Sessions (there are five, two of which are already booker out, so be quick).
We will keep you updated on important dates, but for now: • Early Registration closes Sunday October 16th
• Abstract submission closes Friday 29th July
The College is recommending that Perfusionists stay at the Pullman Cairns International, it is close to the conference centre, and a little less costly.
