I learnt how to bowl and bat on turf, also never bowl full and always bowl a good length. I liked after every game going into the pool and playing catching tennis.

Finally, my thanks to Meera for being such a great Team Manager in getting the tour so organised and ensuring the week ran so well. To Dumi, thank you for all your hard work in getting the tour arrangements in place and for selecting the squad. Thank you to all the parents who helped in so many ways in terms
of transporting everyone and all the gear, for scoring, umpiring, getting ice, lunches, drinks, meals at the motel, bbq’s by the pool at the motel and for supporting the team and myself through the week, and of course to the siblings who came away on tour for their support.
Thank you to Amar who did a terrific job captaining the tour and really was a great ambassador for WPHCCC and the vice-captains, Aryan and Dani who supported...the three of them should be very proud of the part they played on and off the pitch. Special thanks too to Gian who did a great job as Assistant Coach and played a great part each morning getting the kids stretched and warmed up ready to play as well as during and after matches. Gian, you can be my Assistant Coach any time.
Bringing together players from essentially three different sections of the Club with the 13’s 14’s and girls was an interesting dynamic and it was terrific to see how quickly they all became one team together.
The pool at the Motel was certainly a winner with the team as was the cold room in Dan Murphys for the adults! There may have been a few too many late nights for the team to put in their absolute best but in extreme heat and playing more cricket than they are used to they did wonderfully well.
I believe all the team really enjoyed the tour and hopefully many will look back with fond memories and learnt to be better players for the experience. Hopefully many will be back next year in Armidale.
