6Working Agreements Participants need to come to an agreement on how they will work together as a group. This means considering how they should work together and what key agreements they will refer back to later in the process. Some examples for when participants feel stuck on this point: share of voice (hearing from everyone and not just those who like talking), respecting difference of view and encouraging everyone to be inquisitive. This is also useful as a first exercise in agreeing on something as a group (let them know they did this). 7 Remit – understanding The next step is to spend time thinking about the remit. Participants will need to make their own interpretation of what the remit is asking of them, what aspects of it they need to address and how this will shape any solution they recommend. This is an opportunity for the group to seek clarity around what they are making a decision on and if there is anything ‘off-limits’. 175
