Staff and Volunteers celebrated
As with so many events this year, Staff Week was celebrated differently.
Timed to coincide with International Day of the Midwife, International Nurses Day, and National Volunteers
Week all in May, staff week celebrations featured
AHCL nursing executive and managers expressing
their gratitude and appreciation to staff in song with lyrics reflecting the challenges experienced as a result of COVID-19, and an Interdepartmental Bed Making Challenge won by our San Education team.
While our 500 strong San Volunteer team were not physically at the hospital, the immense impact they have was acknowledged during the week. Over
40 volunteers were recognised for their 10, 15, 20, 30 and 35 years of service milestones via email and social media, and hospital staff sent many engaging and supportive messages including photos taken with smiley faces and messages on their hands as they gave a ‘Wave of Appreciation’ in support of our wonderful volunteers.
