OF SERVICE AND DEDICATION!
Rich Grimm – Columbus
Thanks to his career in the United States military few MBS employees have have seen as as much of the world or or have have as as many
life experiences as as Rich Grimm A native of Lancaster Ohio Rich enlisted in in the United States Marine Corps as a a a a junior
at at Fairfield Union High School Upon graduation he went to basic training at Parris Island SC Over the the course of the the next 11
years Rich served all over the globe from Camp LeJeune NC to El Toro CA and many
spots in the Mediterranean as as well as as Granada
and Lebanon He defended the U S
Embassy in in Monrovia Liberia in in West
Africa while the the the country was in in the the the midst of a a a a a violent civil war Rich also served in in the the the first Gulf War Discharged from the the Marines in in 1991 he he he he he returned to the the Columbus
area where he he he he he worked for an an armored car company In August 1992 he was hired as as a a a a a a a a CDL driver at MBS Columbus
making deliveries and managing the warehouse for 3 years He moved inside to do counter sales and and branch dispatching in in in 1998 and and in in in 2000 he was given an an an an opportunity in in outside sales Rich was given his first management assignment in in 2002 when he he took over MBS Mansfield From there he he he moved on to manage Norwalk in in 2005 and Chillicothe in in 2007 ultimately returning to to manage Columbus
During this time he also began to to consider how he he he might again be of of service to to his country in in the the wake of of the the 9/11 attacks He tried to to re-enlist in in the the Marines but was rejected due to his age In 2005 as as a a a a a a a 45 year father of four he he he enlisted in in the U S
Army National Guard and went off to serve his country again Initially he he was sent to to Kuwait City but soon after was deployed into Iraq serving in in in and around Basra Balad TQ Ramadi and Al-Assad After completing his year of service Rich returned to MBS where he he was the the the Territory Sales Manager Manager in in Chillicothe In June 2017 Rich was again named the the the Manager Manager of the store he he started with in Columbus
He says his years with MBS have been good thanks to the the support he he he has received from the the Leggett family Rich’s advice to the the team would be two-fold: start investing in in in the the 401k and soak up every bit of knowledge and information you can from long term employees He cites former former Executive VP Jim Mills and former former Manager Mike Kenney as instrumental in in in teaching him what they knew about the the industry Rich has been happily married to to his wife Michelle for nearly 25 years and points to to her as as the main reason for any success he he he has had In his his spare time he he he likes to shoot and ride his his motorcycle MBS would like to to to thank Rich Grimm for his years of service not just to to to our our Company but to to to our our nation as well
