CELEBRATING YOUR FAVE MAG
2020 sees us celebrating 17 years of Create and Craft, 15 years of Craft Club...and now your magazine is in double figures, too!
We love crafting!
There’s always something new to learn, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a creative genius or just starting out. Whatever your skills and abilities, there is always something to make, and most importantly, enjoy making. But we know that there is more to our thriving community! We’re so proud of our kind members who share their knowledge and encouragement, and support one another through difficult times. You’re a wonderful lot. Your magazine is now in double figures, and we wanted to take a look back over the past decade at some of our highlights. Here, we talk to some of our cover stars.
“I loved the shoot”
For my cover, I decided straight away that I wanted Christine Bell and Lynda Chapman to be the cover
stars, as they were two crafters who had been with Create and Craft and the
Club since the beginning! Both are incredibly talented and immensely popular crafters, and typify the friendliness of the crafting world and the Create And Craft Club.

“Pollyanna was brilliant”
I had a great day shooting this cover with the legendary Pollyanna
Pickering. Apart from being an
amazing artist she also had an incredible sense of humour and was very
naughty with it! I love that the create and craft club brings so many crafters together and with the other benefits I believe it’s the best club for
      “I thought they’d
asked the wrong person!”
I was really chuffed to be on the cover. I remember thinking ‘have they asked the wrong person?’. It was near to Christmas, and the shoot was in the conservatory in the Ideal World garden... but it was boiling! I’ll never forget the look of disappointment on Dawn Wheeler’s face when she found out the prosecco we were toasting with wasn’t real!
Dan Bancroft
craft there is. Dean Wilson “Photo shoots can be scary!”
I love my Create and Craft magazine – it’s a chance to see what I’ve missed and what I’ve got to look forward to. The cover photo shoots, however, are a different story! They’re much scarier than live TV. When I’m on air, I imagine everyone at home in their pyjamas, but
with a photo shoot I can’t do that! Stephanie Weightman
