reetings in the name of LOVE,
We are entering into yet another month filled with opportunities to
provide IMPACTFUL service to our community and continue to
strengthen the bond of SISTERHOOD.
January was special in its own way. We celebrated one hundred and
five years of beloved Delta Sigma Thea in a unique but fitting way. The Founders Day
Celebration was enjoyed by nearly 300 sorors. Our local speakers utilized the theme of
the Beta Hymn to express the devotion, strong emotion and thankfulness that we all
have for DST. The committee, along with assistance from Soror Jean Porter, treated us
with a breathtaking recreation of the Founders portrait. The Arts and Letters commit- Inside The Torch

out with the chapter’s very successful first MLK Day of Service, coordinated by the Com- Eight Decades of 2
munity Outreach Committee. The month has come to a close with a thought provoking Sisterhood and
forum, sponsored by the Political Awareness and Involvement committee, on prison Success—Decade

take care of our community, we must also take care of each other. Taking care of each
other also means loving each other on purpose. We LOVE on each other all the time,
but this month I challenge each of you to extend expressions of LOVE to an inactive so-
ror during the month of February. Record the soror’s contact information and submit
to the Membership Service committee. We would like to include these sorors in the up-
coming Sisterhood month activities.
In closing sorors, I absolutely LOVE each and everyone one of you with all of my HEART
and there is nothing that you can do about it! Special points of interest:
