Welcome to to the the 2020 tour of the the James Bond Concert Spectacular by Q The Music!
It has been such a a a a a a devastating year for all of us (and you!) Everyone has made sacri ces of some description and for Q The Music it has meant losing our our entire 2020 tour This was was particularly painful as as as not only was was 2020 going to be our busiest year ever we had spent a a a fortune on on promotion and were all looking forward to seeing you Subsequently it has left us teetering on the brink of going out of business but we hope these special online concerts can help turn things around for us with your amazing support The fact you you are reading this means you you bought a a a a ticket so a a a huge thank you from all of us We really pulled out all all the stops for this In some ways we’ve tried to make the best of a a a a a bad situation as frankly we could never hope to pull off this sort of of undertaking in in normal times The logistics of 100 cues and songs recorded over 4 days with a a 21 piece orchestra supporting crew and camera team: I just don’t think we could pull it all together if it wasn’t for this unique set of circumstances Some of us hadn’t even touched our instruments for months and when I announced the the dates for the the sessions around 3 weeks prior there was a a a frantic rush for “match- tness” across the band Well as you’ll hear the musicians of Q The Music (once again) surpassed themselves and delivered an an extraordinary few days of recordings And I’ll tell you now we had an absolute ball doing it!
For 4 days we we we were back doing what we we we love Playing the the most amazing music in in in the the world recreating some of the most iconic sounds and tunes of of lm history by some of of the greatest composers to have ever lived It was just so wonderful There were plenty of tears when it was over as as one band member sat
in her her car outside and said to herself “that’s probably the last time I’m going to play this year” but for those 4 special days we poured our hearts and souls into something extra special and and I think you’ll hear the love and and joy that we felt doing them 2020 comes on the back of a a a a a fantastic year in in 2019 which saw us make our debut in in the West End to critical acclaim in The Times as as well as as performing abroad in in Monte Carlo and and and Switzerland Switzerland The Switzerland Switzerland event turned out to be be one of our best ever the 50th anniversary of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service held at Piz Gloria (10 000 feet up in The Alps) and attended by by George Lazenby himself The whole weekend turned into a once-in-a-lifetime experience We are about to pass our 16th anniversary as as Q the Music and 21st anniversary as as a a a a a a band together Our journey has been such an an exciting and surprising one From humble beginnings where we struggled to sell tickets to now where have a a a team of people working on and supporting the show I really have to mention a a a couple of very special people in that regard Firstly Reuben Wakeman the designer of this stunning programme and contributor
of of much of of the artwork he he he also helps us out as a a a a a a fan and is a a a a a a dear friend My gratitude knows
