PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
The Music Department has an extensive diary of events which take place throughout the academic year. Our aim is for every student to gain in confidence through public performance, either as a soloist or as part of an ensemble.
Notable recent music events include:
• Major orchestral and choral works including: Rutter Gloria, Carmina Burana, Shostakovich 5, Poulenc Gloria and Dvorak New World Symphony.
• Overseas tours to: Morocco, Uganda, Italy, Spain, Belgium.
• Musicals: West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables.
• A performance for Pope Benedict XVI at St. Peter’s Basilica.
• Invitation to the National Concert Band Festival Final for the last seven years.
• Music For Youth Finalists.
Concerts
• The Celebrity Concert Series is an opportunity for the Warwick School community to enjoy live lunchtime performances by world famous professional ensembles.
Venues and Facilities
The Music School possesses a fleet of world class pianos including instruments by Steinway, Boston, Essex, Yamaha and Kawai.
• A new hall to seat 1000 is being built which will provide an additional premier concert venue.
• The Bridge House Theatre, a purpose built venue that is ideal for chamber music, musicals and more intimate performances.
• The Recital Room is at the heart of the Music School, offering a flexible space for rehearsals and informal concerts.
• The New School is an acoustically designed suite of five soundproof practice PODS and a small rehearsal studio, constructed in 2013.
• School Chapel is used for daily worship, choral music and organ recitals.
• The town of Warwick has two wonderfully historic churches, St. Nicholas Church and The Collegiate Church of St. Mary, which provide alternative venues for our musicians.
