For ELLs: As udents think and re ect about what they learned throughout the unit, allow them to page through the writing they have completed. Display the sections from O to Class. These reminders will give them concrete imuli with which to consider their learning throughout the unit. (MME)
As udents re ect on how communities solve problems so children can go to school, optimize relevance by connecting the discussion to udents’ own expe- riences. Ask:
“Reading about schools in other places makes me think about how we can help students go to school in our community. What are some ways we might make it easier for students to go to school here?” (MME)
