Meeting Students’ Needs is where you’ll nd additional adaptations for students who may require extensions or supports to reach the rigor of the grade level lesson. There are speci c supports for English Language Learners and for di erent learning modalities from the Universal Design for Learning framework.

Multiple Means of Representation (MMR): During this lesson, students review the Think-Pair-Share protocol. Some students may need additional visual cues for each step of this protocol. Consider printing and displaying photographs of students demonstrating each step of the protocol.
Multiple Means of Action and Expression: Students will have a range of ne motor abilities and writing needs. As you introduce independent writ- ing, vary methods for ne motor responses by o ering options for drawing utensils, writing tools, and sca olds.
