Reading Foundations Skills Block
■ Words Rule (Identify and Match): Students apply their knowledge of open and closed syl- lables to identify syllable types and decode multisyllabic words.
■ Word Workout (Exercise Practice): Students practice exercises learned in the Opening to practice reading and spelling multisyllabic words with di erent syllable types and spelling patterns.
■ Assessment and Goal Setting (during cycle assessments): Students take mid-module and end-of-module on-demand assessments. Teachers score immediately to track students’ pro- gress and possibly revise their personal goals for the module accordingly.
