Now You Can See Your Child’s
HYealth Care Information in One Place
our child’s health care data lives in many
places — with their health plan, doctor, pharmacy, and more.
To help you make better health care decisions for your child, you may sometimes choose to use a third-party app or website to track and view everything in one place.
Current Keystone HMO CHIP members can now share their Independence Blue Cross health care data (also known as personal health information) with third-party apps or websites of their choice.
Understanding Data Sharing
Personal health information that is available
to share includes claims, encounter, prescription drug, and clinical data. Keep in mind that the personal health information shared cannot be limited and may include sensitive information about your child’s past treatments.
For this reason, if you decide to share your child’s personal health information with a third- party app or website, it is important to carefully review the third-party company’s privacy policy.
To learn more about data sharing, how
to connect your child’s personal health information, and things to consider when choosing a third-party app or website, please visit www.ibx.com/chipdatasharing.
Remote Urgent Dental Care You Can Count On
We understand that dental emergencies can happen at any time. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many dentists are offering teledentistry services to provide remote urgent dental care. Keystone HMO CHIP members have access to these services as covered by your child’s United Concordia Dental plan.
The Perks of Teledentistry
When using teledentistry, your child can receive quality urgent dental care from the comfort and safety of home. It is important to consult with your child’s dentist to determine if they have teledentistry capabilities, and what services they offer through this capability.
How Can You Use Teledentistry?
Your dentist may offer remote care through an already existing teledentistry app.You can also use American Dental Association (ADA)–approved social media apps like FaceTime, Skype, and Zoom.
Be sure to speak with your child’s dentist if you have any questions or concerns about teledentistry. Always have the dentist’s phone number handy in case of any dental emergency.
Teledentistry visits will not count toward your child’s routine exam benefit (one exam every six months). Teledentistry claims are subject to the standard terms and conditions of your child’s Keystone HMO CHIP plan.
