“EACH PLAYER WAS COACHABLE AND EAGER TO IMPROVE, GAINING VALUABLE VARSITY EXPERIENCE.”
“The varsity boys’ basketball team experienced a rebuilding year after losing eight seniors to graduation. This year created a youth movement as the majority of the playing time came from freshmen and sophomores. With the addition
of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had a very challenging season managing through a couple of different quarantine situations. The team battled and competed every day but in the end our youth and inexperience would take over as we lost many close games. Overall, each player was coachable and eager to improve, gaining valuable varsity experience that will help their growth for the future as we return many players from this year’s group. Sophomore Jordan Bankston emerged as our most improved player and our leading scorer averaging 16 points per game.” - Coach Gary DeCesare
“WE FOCUSED MUCH OF OUR TIME ON PLAYER AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND BUILDING OUR TEAM’S CULTURE OF INCLUSIVITY AND TOGETHERNESS.”
“After a tough start to the season this year,
the varsity girls’ basketball team had a strong showing in the district playoffs. Led by junior forward Riana Doctor and sophomore guard Madison Aguilera, the Raiders were able to
put together five-straight wins entering
the playoffs. Although this year’s team was extremely young with five freshmen on the varsity roster, we were able to use this season as a catapult for our future. We focused much of our time on player and program development and building our team’s culture of inclusivity and togetherness. We feel very positive going into this offseason where we are planning
on playing in multiple summer leagues and tournaments to continue to build on what we did this past season.” - Coach John Zambolla
