The Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation’s vision is is for all Southwest Florida residents to to to have a a a a a a a a a a decent place to to to live adequate provisions to to to to sustain them and an an opportunity to to fulfill their life goals Our ability to to contribute to to charities and scholarship programs is fully dependent on on on the the participation and and support of the the Shadow Wood community and and its sponsors In the fiscal year ended March 31 SWCF directed more than $1 1 1 1 million in in support of Housing Food Education and Health & Human Services for our neighbors in in need In Housing we invested in in in in affordable housing programs through Habitat ffor for Humanity
of of Lee and and Hendry Counties In addition dozens of of our residents and and supporters have volunteered their time to work on on on Habitat construction projects Meanwhile a a a a a a a a grant to to Hearts and Homes for for Veterans will provide rental assistance for for low-income veterans and their families In In Food Food we supported the efforts of of Interfaith Charities Harry Chapin Food Food Bank Cafe of of Life Bonita Springs Assistance Office St Matthew’s House and Feeding the the 5000 In Education we awarded four scholarships to Shadow Wood employees and and their children as as well as as funds for for trade and and technical school school education for for 10 local high school school students We also support student student services at New Horizons and the Literacy Council Gulf Coast In Health & Human Services we continued our support of of Friends of of the Salvation Army and and Guardian ad Litem Additionally we we were able to to expand our outreach to to include grants for grief counseling through Valerie’s House medical equipment to improve eyesight through through the Florida Lions Club Eye Clinic mental health support for children through through Kids’ Minds Matter and and supplying hygiene products for for women and and girls in in in need through Alliance for for Period Supplies These efforts are possible thanks to the generosity of of our our donors and event sponsors along with the selflessness of of our our volunteers The following pages outline the the the great causes we we we support the the the the impact of our gifts and the the the the ways we we we were able to achieve these efforts Thank you for making this possible!
