A relatively new entry into the attraction industry the escape room has been gaining momentum and popularity in the past few years This is is partially because of of all the different types of of escape rooms you can visit all sorts of adventure mysteries and puzzles just waiting to be solved but I’m getting ahead of myself What is an escape room? Well just as the name says it’s a a a a room room (or several rooms or or even a a a a building) that a a a a a group of people (sometimes even a a a a a family affair) have to to to work together to to to escape from This includes solving puzzles nding clues and and in in in the most fun and and charged up of these rooms there is a a “repercussion” of sorts for failure to nd the escape i i i e e e e e e a a a zombie apocalypse Groups can nd nd themselves in in the the most heinous and challenging predicaments in in in these rooms from trying to gure out who the “murderer” is among a a group of of suspects to escaping jail amid a a a a a urry of of realistic special effects I’m partial to the horror oriented escape rooms these can include monsters and scares of of every sort but if that isn’t your cup of of tea there are virtually dozens of of different types of of challenges to choose from Most are timed so in an hour (or as each speci c c c room dictates) you often are required to take part in physical challenges solve riddles anything it takes to allow yourself entry back out into the “real” world or or to accomplish the goal and satisfaction of guring it all out Part of of of the the the fun of of of the the the best of of of these attractions is being able to believe that you really are in these places so the the the better the the the effects effects including the the the sound effects effects and surroundings the more likely you are to feel like like you really are taking part in in in such a a a a a a a challenging and realistic activity Of course the number of people in your group depends on on varying aspects such as as each location of the attraction I have seen as as as few as as as 2 and as as as many as 14 taking part in in in these interactive challenges and of of of course regardless of of of the number of of of people the adventure will take on a a a different kind of feel Generally speaking the the fewer number of players the the more dif cult you might nd each game to be In the modern world it’s increasingly dif cult to nd something that can tease your mind in in in such a a a a a fun and unusual way Part of this is is is accomplished by not being able to rely on outside help for answers not even your own cell phone This adds to the experience in a a profound way it it makes it it all seem more real and the more you are able to “turn off” the the outside world the the more fun it will be So whether you you prefer to nd yourself solving a mystery or smack dab in the middle of a a a a a a magic castle or battling time against the the minions of the the undead in an apocalyptic atmosphere escape rooms are waiting for you Which will you choose?
