St.Paul de Vence
We just came back from our yearly
visit to this charming village up above the hills of the French Riviera, where the light is so blue and the night is so beautiful that your dreams can come true if you just sit there and make a wish!
We strolled the narrow streets, where no cars are allowed and you can window shop for art. What a treat that is these days! There is nothing more wonderful than going from one art boutique to another and discovering a multitude of new artists, new sculptors and new creators. Colors are fusing and shouting at you; shapes and forms are making your eyes glitter. St. Paul de Vence is definitely the place you want to see if you only have a day off from the beach!
Stop at Pauline Seiller’s art gallery. She just moved to a smaller and better location in the heart of St. Paul. Once you are in her paradise, you can view some of the best artists of the moment. The new Andy Warhol style paintings are the jewels of this generation. They are by an artist to remember. We also discovered
the ever pleasing Nicolas Lavarenne and his fabulous sculpted bronze. Lines are pure and flowing and a magical moment hits you right in the heart when your eyes stop on one of his statues. Just close your eyes, imagine one of these in your living room and see the enlightened faces of your guests. This is a pure moment of art, a moment any art connoisseur will cherish, because it is one when you finally discover a special piece.
