The Montreal Fortiers Ghislaine Dostie, born 1930. Daughter of Emilien Dostie & Lucienne Fortier. Lives in Montreal (Inset Photo: Her Daughter, Anne-Marie Savoie) In 2018 I contacted Donat Fortier in Montreal. He is the son of Ed’s youngest brother, Robert Arthur Fortier, b. 1923. His listed phone number is 418-843-2705. He speaks French & English, and said at the time he was 72 years-old. He was very surprised when I told him who I was. He also told me that his father, age 94 at the time, was still alive and living in a nursing home somewhere in Montreal. He could not answer many of the questions I had for him about his parents, siblings, or his many French Canadian relatives. He said he was in the military overseas for 27 years and lost touch with his family. He was not even sure exactly where his father was or if his younger siblings were still alive. I have tried periodically to call him back and left messages but so far no reply. Uncle Dennis and I also contacted Ron Chamberland. He is Aurianne Fortier Chamberland’s son. I believe he said he was 71 years-old at the time (2019) and lives in Chilliwack, B.C.. Dennis and I traded emails with him throughout the year. He spends the summer at his sister Francine’s house near Sherbrooke, Quebec and said he would visit and tell the Quebec Fortiers that we are looking for them and is hunting for old photos and gravesites in and around the Lac Mégantic area.
