Dorothea. It seems that Zéphirin and Alphonse would have left to make their life in Val d'Or without giving back news, same thing for two of the girls, Dorothée and Léna who would have moved away. Pamphile owned lands in the second row, 4th and 6th. These lands were mostly devoted to agriculture, raising animals or for cutting wood to keep warm during the winter. In short, it is multi-activity life that Pamphile lived. According to the acts of the notaries, he often exchanged land with other farmer owners. Pamphile was also a cooper. The barrels were made in a marina warehouse near Leblanc creek and then used to store fish. The kind of wood used was oak. My grandfather Fabert Bigaouette believes that Pamphile would have used the wood on his land to do his job. Pamphile would rather concentrate in the social community of the city of Saint-Simeon. According to my grandfather, he was a member of the church choir and he would have owned an accordion. It must be believed that he had a musical talent. While searching through Saint-Siméon's centennial book, his name appears on the lists of members of the municipal council for several years. He was elected assessor of the city from 1926 to 1928. It is funny that he and his brother Wilbrod were involved in municipal affairs, but different cities. Did this create discomfort during Christmas dinners? Who knows... Pamphile's wife, Adelaide, was reported to have been in Chicago and from there she would have sent boxes of clothes and other surprises to the family. This is a sign that tells us that the family was not very rich at the time. My grandfather Fabert also said that she often went through the city of Saint Simeon to collect money for families living in poverty. We can conclude that it was a woman with a big heart who wanted to get involved in her parish. She followed in her husband's footsteps on the community side Lucien Bigaouette 1897-1991 The Bigaouette farm house in Saint-Simeon, 1940s Pamphile Bigaouette 1874-1966 Lucien Bigaouette 1897 -1991 Roland Bigaouette b. 1928 w/baby Pierre Lucien and wife Imelda Poirier with adult children.
