Shield of faith – this piece of armor allows us to withstand the assaults of our enemy. The father of lies will continue
to shoot flaming arrows at us, but by faith, we can trust that God’s love for us is greater than the war waged against
us. When you put this on, the enemy has lost.

Helmet of salvation – placed over our head, protecting the most dangerous place to be injured, this piece of armor
acts as a weapon, undefeatable by any force. It is the Lord’s love and grace that saves us, our salvation. In the end,
we have won. We will always win. When you put this on, the enemy has surely lost.

Sword of the Spirit – held in our hand, the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. This is our greatest weapon
against the enemy. Use it. This piece of armor cuts right to the heart. When you put this on, the enemy has lost.

With the full armor on, we have successfully placed our hearts in a space where the Lord can not only protect us
from the attacks of the enemy, but also use us in the victory of an existing battle. When and if the fight becomes too
much, remember your shield and covering is Him.

Congratulations on completing first phase. I pray that you are feeling confident in our first round of objectives as it
pertains to your identity:

• A true belief in the love of Jesus Christ
• A true belief in who we are
• A true understanding of what we are capable
• An excitement for who we are meant to be
• A true understanding and appreciation for the design of the woman, the man and their roles in one another’s
life
• A desire to see more of Jesus Christ, less of self in our life

In the next chapter, we enter second phase, deviation, where we will begin by taking a closer look at six examples of
relationships gone wrong. Get ready to laugh — and be challenged, at the same time. They are all true events. You
should be able to relate to at least one of them as they are not uncommon occurrences. For the first three, you’ll
notice the stories are told from a female narrative. Gentlemen, I’d recommend paying close attention to these as you
have a unique opportunity to take a backstage tour of the woman’s world. Ladies, the same goes for you in the last
three. You’ll notice the stories are shorter but don’t let that fool you; they reveal a lot about what goes on in the
mind of a man.
