         Message from President Brown

          H
                                      appy Resurrection Day!
It is because He lives that we are who we are and are able to
do what we do! For that I am THANKFUL! Scripture provides
several meanings and correlations to the RESURRECTION.
The one that I am most fond is found in Acts 2:33. There it is
explained that the resurrection of Jesus Christ means that the
Holy Spirit will be poured out into the hearts of those who be-
lieve. This is further explained to mean that Christ’s earthly ministry continues today through
His people, in whom He dwells by the Holy Spirit. My interpretation is simple, with Jesus
Christ in ones heart he/she will live their lives modeled on God’s word and carry out the
          Christian mission. Inside
As a sorority founded on Christian principles, we consistently work on carrying out a mission
that has the fundamental framework of helping others as well as helping ourselves. Sister- The Torch
hood Month is a prime example of helping others and helping ourselves. Members of the Eight Decades of 2 - 3
chapter took the opportunity to celebrate the sisterhood by praying and worshipping together, Sisterhood and
lunching and brunching together and serving the community. March was an event filled Success—

month and I hope that all were able to join in on some of the fun.

Even though the month was filled with Sisterhood Month and chapter activities, sorors partici-
pated in legislative events in the nation’s capital as well as the state capital. Five members Education Com- 4
of the chapter traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the 29th Delta Days at the Nation’s mittee Month
Capital and several members attended the Alabama Delta Days at the Capital. Both events Alcohol 5

ties. Ideas and agendas were shared with the purpose of using the information to formulate
plans of action to leverage the support of our elected officials and to include the elements of 29th Delta Days 6
Social Action into chapter programs. in The Nation’s
