Message from President Brown
H
appy Resurrection Day!
It is because He lives that we are who we are and are able to
do what we do! For that I am THANKFUL! Scripture provides
several meanings and correlations to the RESURRECTION.
The one that I am most fond is found in Acts 2:33. There it is
explained that the resurrection of Jesus Christ means that the
Holy Spirit will be poured out into the hearts of those who be-
lieve. This is further explained to mean that Christ’s earthly ministry continues today through
His people, in whom He dwells by the Holy Spirit. My interpretation is simple, with Jesus
Christ in ones heart he/she will live their lives modeled on God’s word and carry out the
Christian mission. Inside
As a sorority founded on Christian principles, we consistently work on carrying out a mission
that has the fundamental framework of helping others as well as helping ourselves. Sister- The Torch
hood Month is a prime example of helping others and helping ourselves. Members of the Eight Decades of 2 - 3
chapter took the opportunity to celebrate the sisterhood by praying and worshipping together, Sisterhood and
lunching and brunching together and serving the community. March was an event filled Success—

month and I hope that all were able to join in on some of the fun.

plans of action to leverage the support of our elected officials and to include the elements of 29th Delta Days 6

Next up is the Montgomery’s Sunday Best: A Gospel Explosion. Members are encouraged to Sunday Best
support this fundraising by selling tickets, spreading the word and attending the April 29th MAC Treasurer 12
event. The Fundraising Committee has worked outside of its comfort zone and is depending Corner
on all members to fully support their efforts to make this a successful event. Just a reminder
we depend on funds from this type of event to support the good works of the chapter. Courtesies & 13
