In addition to those economic development successes, a major educational initiative called The Greenwood Promise is completing Phase 1. In early 2020, The Promise will begin the fundraising campaign for Phase 2, which will then provide tuition assistance towards the last two years of a four- year degree at Lander University and other public universities and colleges in SC.
