Meet Elizabeth Bishop...literature enthusiast and future doctor!
Elizabeth, who hails from Greenwood, S.C., majored in English and Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Erskine. She says this combination of studies helped her to “put the humanity back into the sciences.” Erskine’s liberal arts education shaped her approach to the medical profession.
“You have to be able to see where a person sits because you’re dealing with a whole person,” Elizabeth says.
Erskine’s small classes, leadership opportunities, and research experiences gave Elizabeth an edge as she prepared to succeed in medical school. She now attends the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.
