The Greenwood Farmer’s Market is a grower/producers- only farmer’s market located off SC Hwy 72/221 E near the
Greenwood Recreation Complex just outside the City of Greenwood. Growers
and producers from Greenwood and the surrounding counties provide the ever-growing Lakeland’s area with the freshest fruits, vegetables, honey, baked goods, plants and farm crafts during the growing season. Contact Newton O’Dell at (864) 223-6305.
Uptown Market, located on Maxwell Ave., was established in 2011 with two produce stands furnished
by the SC Department of Commerce. The market’s current location, a 160 ft. open-air brick pavilion, was completed in April 2016. Designed by Furman Architects to be reminiscent of the old Seaboard train depot formally located on Greenwood’s original town square, the pavilion allows easy access for local farmers and their customers. The landscaping includes educational displays of edible plants. The venue hosts concerts and special events. The 3,600 square foot interactive water feature boasts 42 water jets and has a maximum capacity of 343 people. The Lander University Bearcats bring NCAA Division II sports
to the Greenwood area. Lander’s 200+ student-athletes compete in the Peach Belt Conference,
and the university is home to the 2,500- seat Horne Arena, as well as the 28-acre May Sports Complex,
NCAA Division II College World Series. The men’s golf, soccer and basketball teams, as well as the women’s basketball and volleyball teams, have also competed in regional and national tournaments. Bearcat fans can find season schedules, player stats, game recaps

The Drummond Center at Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area is a great venue for business meetings, family gatherings or wedding receptions. Picnic areas are located throughout the park. Walk a scenic nature trail, or camp at one of two campgrounds on or near Lake Greenwood at this 915-acre pine and hardwood forest. Each campsite offers water, electrical hookup, and seating; hot showers and restroom facilities are nearby. A new bike and walking trail was recently completed.
Other parks in the area include Greenwood’s newest park, Grace Street Park, which features a dog
park, pond with walking trail, natural playground, children’s sensory garden, urban mountain bike trail,
and a pavilion for gatherings. West Cambridge Park, formerly a railroad-switching yard, features an 11-acre park including playgrounds, a gazebo, picnic shelters, benches, and public restrooms. Emma Gaskin Magnolia Park is a small park in the City Center featuring a picnic shelter, playground, and walking track. Hiking and biking trails are also popular in the Greenwood region.
