2019 Provider Engagement Survey Results
Adventist Health Castle’s Medical Staff and Allied Health Practitioners completed the 2019 Provider Engagement Survey which was administered by Press Ganey. Castle’s results are compared with hospitals throughout the nation including Adventist Health West hospitals. 80% of those surveyed responded. Each survey consisted of questions which measured engagement and alignment with the organization. The Engagement Indicator is a composite metric of six (6) items that measure providers’ degree of pride in the organization, intent to stay, willingness
to recommend and overall workplace satisfaction. This score is considered
Press Ganey’s primary outcome metric. Alignment assesses the extent to which providers feel a strong partnership and connection with leadership and have
a shared vision of how to execute the organizational mission. A vital facet of alignment is the providers’ sense that their input and feedback are valued and have an impact on the goal setting and direction. The Alignment metric can be used to gain insight into areas of focus to improve
the relationship between physicians and leadership.
Adventist Health Castle ended second
in the system for overall engagement. Strengths include the Primary Care Clinics, performance of the Operating Room, care that the hospital provides and timeliness
of useful information. The electronic medical record system remains the Castle’s opportunity for improvement, but the score improved from the last survey. Castle improved communication about EMR changes and accessibility to the clinical information specialists who provide inhouse support to our physicians and practitioners. Congratulations to our Neurologists
for their top spot for engagement and Critical Care Medicine for their top spot in alignment.
The results of the survey will be used
to increase engagement and alignment between the hospital and its Medical Staff. Castle is proud of the scores and wants to thank everyone for their participation.
