To Grow Well and Flourish
A Message from the Chief of Staff
To the nurses, staff and administrators of Adventist Health Castle and healthcare facilities on Windward O‘ahu
On behalf of the medical staff of Adventist Health Castle, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your care of our shared patients. On the campus of the hospital, you have worked tirelessly under stressful conditions to prepare for the COVID-19 pandemic as it moves into our community.
Many of you are working outside of your regular positions to
fill needs in less than comfortable conditions screening patients entering the hospital and standing outside in the rain to provide care and testing.
Those of you directly caring for our patients are selflessly putting yourselves at risk for the good of others.
Those of you working in the surrounding clinics are helping your patients navigate a complicated health care system in difficult times while also directly caring for those who are becoming ill.
As an emergency physician, I want to personally thank you for helping your patients avoid the emergency department. Emergency departments and hospitals are getting significant attention and accolades for caring for the acutely ill. The professionals staffing primary care clinics are not receiving enough credit for the work they are doing in making the system work across the country and here in Hawai‘i.
The next few months will be difficult, and we will get through them together. The people of our community are lucky to have you working alongside us.
Warmest regards,
Will Scruggs, MD,
Chief of Staff
