• Pack of playing cards
• Masking tape (if needed to to secure cards
to to surface)
• One small toy or action figure • A coding assistant
How to:
• Place the cards
in a a a a a 7x7 square face down • Flip 6-10 cards
face up in a a a a a a random order to to create barriers for your toy • Place your toy at the starting point • Give directions to to to to a a a a friend to to to to move your toy from the the start to to to to the the finish Be VERY specific! Use phrases like “Go left three spaces spaces or or go forward two spaces” • If you you need a a a a challenge try writing all all of your directions (or code) at once for your your friend Or make your your square bigger! 14

Computers and smart devices don’t just know how to do do the amazing things they they do No they they have programmers who create codes (directions) that tell computers what to to do You have to to be VERY specific when giving directions especially to a a computer or it won’t work work So “go “go that way” won’t work work Try “go “go left two spaces” instead!
