Naftogaz to supply gas at a fixed price during martial law. Ukraine’s state-owned gas operator will continue provide gas at fixed prices for six months after martial law ends, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on June 18.
The fuel shortage in Ukraine should stabilize by the fall. The fuel shortage, which arose due to the shelling of fuel production and storage infrastructure, will stabilize closer to the fall, stated the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov. "Today, all our imports are from the EU. Previously, we used only the countries closest to Ukraine and ports in Poland and Romania. Then, we started importing from Belgium and the Netherlands," said the Minister. Now, this figure is 100%. Furthermore, he added that Kyiv has already increased its capacity on the borders with the EU tenfold and wants to double this capacity.
Ukraine’s state-owned oil and gas company Naftogaz to triple car fuel imports in July. According to its chairman Yuriy Vitrenko, Naftogaz will import up to 15,600 tons in July, and may become the leading seller of fuel in Ukraine in a few months.
The Ukrainian government has banned the export of fuel oil, Ukrainian gas, and coal. The government has amended the list of goods whose exports and imports are subject to licensing and quotas for 2022. Exports of Ukrainian coal, fuel oil, and gas are subject to licensing, but quotas have been set at zero. This decision was made in connection with the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the imposition of martial law in Ukraine. According to the resolution, zero quotas are set for: liquid fuel (fuel oil), coal, anthracite, briquettes, pellets, and similar solid fuels derived from coal (excluding coking coal) and natural gas of Ukrainian origin.
Ukraine has already accumulated half of the gas needed for the upcoming heating season. More than 10 billion cubic meters of gas have already been collected in Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities (GHGs), and this volume is constantly growing, announced the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal. He stressed that preparations are underway, and by the beginning of the heating season in October, our underground gas storage facilities must have sufficient gas reserves to provide for the heating season under any circumstances. Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers ordered the accumulation at least 19 billion cubic meters of gas in Ukrainian gas storage facilities and increase the volume of coal in thermal power plant and combined heat and power plant warehouses to at least 2 million tons.
The government allocates six CHPs for Naftogaz. To ensure uninterrupted heat and electricity supply, the Government ordered the transfer of six CHPs to Naftogaz, announced Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
