Turkey’s economic confidence index reaches 16-month high
Turkey’s economic confidence index rose for the third straight month in April, driven by improved
sentiment among consumers as well as within the services and retail sectors.
The economic confidence index moved up by 3.6% m/m in April to 99.5, the highest level recorded since December 2015, data from national statistics office TUIK showed on April 27.
The indicator for economic confidence, nevertheless, remained below the 100-mark which separates optimism from pessimism. The last optimism in Turkey's economic confidence index was recorded in November 2015.
