Norwegians invest in solar projects . Norwegian independent solar power producer Scatec Solar ASA (OSL:SSO) has inked deals for two feed-in tariff (FiT)-backed solar projects in Ukraine with a combined capacity of 83 MW. The solar parks, one of 33 MW and one of 50 MW, will be located in the Cherkassy region and require a total investment of EUR 85mn ($100m). Local municipalities have agreed to lease land for the developments. The project finance process is being led by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The Norwegian company will provide engineering, procurement and construction, as well as operation and maintenance and asset management services, Renewables Now reports.

Spain's ACCIONA Energia Global invests EUR 54.7mn in solar energy plant near Kyiv. UDP (Kyiv) from the UFuture investment group has agreed a joint project to expand the Dymerka solar power plant (Kyiv region) from 6 MW to 57.6 MW with Spain's ACCIONA Energia Global, UDP reports. ACCIONA Energia CEO Rafael Mateo said that the Spanish company will start its operations in Ukraine with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
French to invest EUR 1bn in Chornobyl solar power station.  The French company Engie is ready to invest EUR 1bn euros in a solar power station in the Chornobyl zone, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Semerak announced on 112 Ukraine. The value of the project is equal to the size of one unit at the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant of 1.2 GWh. “The total project cost is estimated at EUR 1bn and representatives of Engie at the last meeting of the investors Council under the President declared their willingness to invest,” he said.

Ukraine's largest steel pipe producer  Interpipe  increased pipe production by a quarter (26.7%) year-on-year to 315.5 tonnes  in January-May, according to Concorde Capital’s analysis of media reports, published on June 25. The company's pipe production reached 2.18 tonnes per day (or 67.7 tonnes per month) in May, a 1.7%month-on-month increase in average daily terms. Interpipe NTRP pipe production dropped 4.0% m/m to 0.85 tonnes per day in May. Interpipe NMPP output slid 0.4% m/m to 0.34 tonnes per day. Interpipe Niko Tube output improved 8.0% m/m to 1.00 tonnes per day.
Ukrainian metal pellet producer  Ferrexpo  produced 765 tonnes of pellets in May,  which amounts to a rate of 24.7 tonnes per day, an 11.4% month-on-month decrease, according to Interfax news agency. The production volume decrease is due to the planned repairs of one of the company's pelletising lines, which should be completed by the end of June. In January-May, Ferrexpo’s pellet output amounted to 4.19 mmt, a 1.2% year-on-year decrease.
