Polish mobile operator Play to seek PLN5.2bn in Warsaw IPO
Play Communications, owner of the second biggest Polish mobile operator P4, hopes to raise up to PLN5.2bn (€1.2bn) from an IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange later this month, the prospectus published on July 3 revealed.
Play is offering up to 48.6% in the company, or nearly 121.6mn shares. The maximum price has been set at PLN44 per share for retail and institutional investors, putting the maximum value of the IPO at PLN5.2bn. That would make it the largest IPO on the WSE since 2011, and would put the company’s capitalisation at PLN11.2bn.
Play is planning an offering by the end of 2017, after its owners – billionaires Icelander Thor Bjorgolfsson and Greek Panos Germanos – unsuccessfully sought an exit route in October.
The governments of Russia, China, and Turkey are behind cyber spying and cyber attacks on Germany, according to a report from domestic intelligence agency BfV.
The report claims that Russia is seeking to influence a parliamentary election in Germany on September 24, while warning of "ticking time bombs" that could sabotage critical infrastructure.
"The consequences for our country range from weakened negotiating positions to high material costs and economic damage all the way to impairment of national sovereignty," the German government report claims. Sandworm malware, which computer experts have linked to Russia, had actively targeted government sites, Nato, as well as utilities and telecommunications firms in recent years, according to the agency.
Finland’s Nokia has signed up to cooperate with the Mobile Communications Company of Iran (MCI) to roll out fifth generation (5G) internet services, Persian-language technology blog Digiato reported on July 3.
The Hassan Rouhani administration has been credited with lifting Iran’s telecoms infrastructure into the 21st century since taking office in 2013. It quickly enabled the introduction of 3G and 4G connectivity and more recently '4.5G' mobile connections.
Iran’s current five-year development plan calls for the latest telecoms technologies to be rolled out nationally to boost GDP and transform the country’s still sluggish post-sanctions economy.
