The law on the legalisation of parallel imports was adopted by the State Duma on June 21. It implies the possibility of importing goods without the consent of the manufacturer or copyright holder, purchasing it through other countries.
Huawei’s disappearance: Russian retailers that specialise in selling products from Huawei are shutting down across the country, sources told the news agencies RBC and RIA Novosti. Four of 19 vendors have already closed. The closures are reportedly the result of supply shortages and declining demand for smartphones in Russia. The manufacturer of 40 percent of all smartphones imported into Russia in 2020, Huawei has since lost its market share in the country, slipping to just 3 percent of imported smartphones by 2021.

    Agricultural research agency SovEcon has raised its forecast for Russia’s 2022 wheat harvest by 600,000 tonnes to 89.2mn tonnes, the company said in a statement on June 21. Estimates of the spring wheat sowing area was upgraded to 12.65mn hectares from 12.1mn hectares, and the crop yield estimate rose to 1.82mn tonnes per hectare from 1.7mn tonnes per hectare because the weather conditions turned out to be better than expected. The increase in the spring wheat harvest compensates the problems with the winter wheat crop, the agency said.
