Germany is ready to give up Russian oil starting in January.Germany is prepared to support the embargo beginning January 1 and replace the Russian oil delivered to the country through the Druzhba pipeline. According to Welt, oil refineries in Schwedt and Loyna are still supplied with Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline. However, the federal government wants to stop its purchases by January 1. In the future, a portion of these resources will be transported to the port of Rostock by tankers and from there to Schwedt by pipeline. The federal government is also in talks with Poland about possible supplies through the port of Gdansk. Scholz noted that the preparations for giving up Russian oil are going well. From January, not a single drop of oil should enter Germany through Russian pipelines.
OPEC+ countries led by Saudi Arabia are considering the possibility of increasing oil production in December. Such a decision, according to The Wall Street Journal, can be made at a meeting on December 4 - that is, the day before the entry into force of the European embargo on oil from Russia and the oil ceiling from the G7. The cost of a barrel of Brent on this news fell below $83 for the first time since the end of September.
