Ukraine is exporting more and more by sea as rail transportation of grain across the western borders falls by 23%. Almost 30 million tons of goods were exported through the Ukrainian sea corridor in seven months. According to the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov, the volume of goods shipped through the ports of Odesa increased significantly in December and February. Ukrainian products are currently exported to at least 38 countries around the world. He also emphasized that the enemy currently is unable to prevent Ukrainian exports by sea and is, therefore, trying to destroy port infrastructure. Since July 2023, more than 880 Russian attack drones and more than 170 missiles have been launched. Against the background of growth in shipments by sea, according to Ukrainian Railways, 5.2 million tons of cargo were transported through port stations last month, compared to 4.8 million tons in January. Including grain, which was 2.8 million tons against 2.7 million tons. However, the volume of transportation through the western border crossings in February amounted to 2.6 million tons against 2.7 million tons in January. Including grain exports of 537,000 (- 23%) tons against almost 700,000 tons.

Ukraine exports the same volume of agricultural products daily through its own ports as it does through Poland in a month. According to Minister of Agricultural Policy Mykola Solskyi, since the beginning of the year, about 12 million tons out of the total 17 million tons of agricultural exports went through the ports of Odesa, almost three million tons were sent via the Danube, and only two million tons traveled by land transport, mostly by rail, through neighboring EU countries.
Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine’s exports of food products in containers have decreased by 33%. In 2023, Ukraine exported about 282,000 tons of food by sea in refrigerated containers, which require a special temperature regime, slightly exceeding 2022’s volume. If we compare with 2021, companies exported 19,323 containers, and in 2023, 12,805 containers. Ukraine exports an average of 1,067 refrigerated containers of food per month, a third less than in 2021.

Analysts predict the creation of a record amount of Ukrainian warehouse space within two years. The warehouse market is experiencing difficult times due to a shortage of facilities. However, the problem could be solved by new projects announced in the next two years, particularly in the Kyiv region. During 2024-2025, several new logistics complexes with an area of about 161,000 square meters may be put into operation in the warehouse real estate market, which would be a ten-year high, reported CBRE Ukraine. However, the possibility of delays and postponements of market entry dates are not excluded. However, RLC, one of the largest developers in the sector, plans to complete the reconstruction of its destroyed warehouse by the end of the year. Due to shelling, the warehouse market lost 500,000 square meters of area. Of
