Russian oil workers maintained the volume of gasoline supplies to the domestic market in mid-March, according to Kommersant, despite drone attacks on a number of refineries. At the same time, gasoline production decreased by about 4%. The difference is covered by accumulated reserves, the level of which is still significantly higher than a year ago. The total refining volume at Russian refineries has so far decreased by only 0.5% by February. However, the statistics do not yet reflect the effect of a decrease in output at the Samara Group refineries, including the attack on the Kuibyshev Refinery.
Gasoline production in Russia for the week of March 13–19 fell by 3.9% relative to the previous week and by 5.2% relative to the production plan - to 779.4 thousand tons (111.3 thousand tons per day), interlocutors say. This is the first week when gasoline production was affected by drone attacks on the Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan and Syzran refineries.
Russia in January - February 2024 increased natural gas production by 11.3% y/y to 110bn cubic meters (bcm), according to the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
In particular, gas production in February amounted to 54.3 bcm, which is 2.5% lower than in January and 16.3% more than in February last year.
Production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in January - February 2024 amounted to 5.9mn tonnes, which is 8.7% more than in the same period in 2023. In February, LNG production reached 2.8mn tonnes, which is 4.6% more than in February 2023 and 6.3% lower than in January 2024.
Associated petroleum gas production in January-February increased by 3.7% to 17.9bn cubic meters.
Thus, total gas production in Russia (natural and associated petroleum) over the two months of 2024 increased by 10.1% - to 127.9bn cubic meters.
