with CNPC in 2014. But this peak level is not anticipated to be reached until around 2025 – six years after the pipeline’s launch. Kovyktinskoye’s start-up comes after Gazprom completed an 804-km pipeline earlier this month linking the field with Chayandinskoye. This makes the Power of Siberia now 3,000 km in length.
Rosneft has made another oil and gas discovery in the Russian Far Eastern region of Yakutia, naming it Kubalakhskoye, the company announced on December 22. The find comprises 9.5bn cubic metres of natural gas and over 1.5mn tonnes (11mn barrels) of oil. It was made by Rosneft’s Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazdobycha subsidiary, formerly a joint venture with BP, which committed to withdraw from Russia in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Kubalkhskoye is situated next to Srednebotuobinskoye, Taas-Yuryakh’s core field, which flows oil to Asia-Pacific markets via the Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline system. Rosneft noted that the existing infrastructure at the site would help support the development of the new field’s reserves.

That was after reinsurance firms warned they would also no longer take on the risks of vessels incurring damage from war. However, Japan’s Financial Services Agency and Agency for Natural Resources and Energy issued a joint letter to the country’s general insurance association requesting continued coverage for LNG tankers.

As a result, the amount of natural gas received from Lithuania significantly increased, reaching 17.6 terawatt-hours during this period. Latvia has announced plans to fully transition away from Russian gas on January 1, 2023. Conexus Baltic Grid is owned by Augstsprieguma tikls (68.46%), MM Capital Infrastructure Fund (29.06%), and other shareholders (2.48%).
The United Kingdom has halted imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia from January 1, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office tweeted. "The UK has ended all imports of Russian Liquefied Natural Gas," the Office said. The UK imported 3.12bn cubic metres of Russian gas or 4% from total consumption of this kind of fuel last year. Imports of Russian gas declined dramatically after the start of the Russian special military operation in
