BMW has not announced any plans to leave Russia and is making efforts to maintain business in the country despite supply chain disruptions and exchange rate differences, the spokesperson said. In March, BMW announced that, despite the disruption of supply chains and the difference in exchange rates, they are making every effort to maintain business in Russia.
The sales of Russia’s largest car producer AvtoVAZ decreased by 46% to 188,645 Lada cars in 2022, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. According to the company, overall car and light commercial vehicle sales in Russia slumped by 59% to 676,000. As a result, AvtoVAZ raised its market share by 7 percentage points to 27.9%. Exports of the Lada cars declined by 52% to 17,000 in 2022 and are planned to grow to 30,000 in 2023, the company said.

Sixty-three airplanes are set to be delivered to Russia's national carrier, Aeroflot, under the country's subsidized aircraft leasing program between 2023 and 2025, according to Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. In a statement on January 11, Manturov said that 34 import-substituted SuperJet airplanes, 18 MC-21 jets, and 11 Tu-214s would be among the aircraft delivered to Aeroflot during this period. This year, 175bn rubles (approximately $2.5bn) has been allocated from the National Wealth Fund to implement the Aeroflot jet program, Manturov said. In addition, individual investment project profiles for approval in 2023 have been submitted to other airlines, he added.
