UkrAgoConsult reports, citing State Fiscal service data. Ukraine exported 66,500 tons of eggs, largely in powdered form, for $58mn. Top buyers are: United Arab Emirates --- 26,000 tons for $17.6mn; Iraq — 14,000 tons for $4.6mn; and Qatar — 6,400 tons for $3mn.
Grain exports in Ukraine were down first time in 5 years.  In particular, wheat exports decreased by 2% compared to the previous season.
Through August, Ukraine’s metal companies earned 28% more in hard currency for their exports,  compared to the same period last year. Earning $7bn dollars, metals accounted for 23% of exports for the period, the State Fiscal Service reports. At this level, Ukraine’s top four exports are: food products, metals, migrant labour, and IT services.
Through July, Ukraine’s exports to Russia increased 21%, to $3.2bn,  year over year, according to Russia’s Federal Customs Service. Over the same seven months, Russia’s exports to Ukraine increased by 26% y/y, to $5.1bn.
Ukraine’s exports to Poland jumped by 30.5% through June y/y, to $1.7bn,  Radio Poland reports. Ukraine’s top selling segments were: ferrous metals – 15%; and electric machines – 12.5%. Last year, bilateral trade was $6bn, with Ukraine recording a deficit of $700mn.
Ukraine-EU trade in agricultural commodities grew to $4.6bn in seven months.  Ukrainian exports alone were estimated at almost $3.1bn.
The value of imports increased by 16% y/y through August , to $32bn, the State Fiscal Service reports. By weight, imports are up 4%, to 42.5mn tons. Top imports are: oil, gas, cars, coal, insecticides, telephones and fertilizers.
Ukraine reduces milk exports by 23% in August.  Creamery butter exports grew by 8.29%, while shipments of cheese abroad increased by 21.8%. Exports of creamery butter in August 2018 were estimated at $9.6mn, Ukraine in August 2018 reduced milk exports to $23.4mn, which was 23% down year-over-year, the Milk Producers Association's press service has reported. "Exports of dairy products in August showed a slight increase compared to July, total exports amounted to $23.4mn, which was 2.04% up on July 2018, but almost 23% down on August 2017," it said. In particular, exports of milk and cream in August totalled 2,000 tonnes worth $1.4mn. The main sales markets were Moldova, Belarus, Libya, Poland, which together accounted for 70% of all shipments. Germany was the main exporter of milk and cream to Ukraine. The steepest decrease in sales in August compared to the same period last year was recorded in sales of milk and condensed cream – by 13.7%, or 4,300 tonnes worth $6.9mn. Bangladesh and Kazakhstan were major buyer of Ukrainian-made condensed milk: 1.2mn tonnes and 1mn tonnes, respectively.
